ŌTARA MUSIC FESTIVAL
Weaving the Future, through music and community.
ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
The Ōtara Music Festival is a free, family-friendly celebration of music and community, showcasing the incredible talent and diversity of South Auckland.
Produced by Sistema Aotearoa, in partnership with the Ōtara-Papatoetoe Local Board, Ōtara Music Arts Centre and Creative Communities, the festival brings together local artists, young performers, schools and community organisations for a day of live music, connection and celebration.
THE VISION
To celebrate local talent, inspire the next generation of musicians, and strengthen community pride by creating meaningful connections through music.
The festival aims to give children, young people and their whānau the opportunity to see what their own future could look like. By watching local artists and young performers sharing the stage, they see people who look like them, come from the same communities and have followed their passion. In doing so, they begin to realise that they too can aspire to perform, create, lead and contribute to the future of their community.
Inspired by the festival’s woven visual identity, every artist, performer, volunteer, partner and audience member represents another thread in the fabric of our community. Together, we are weaving the future.
