DOMINION RD THE MUSICAL – THE REMIX

Dominion Rd The Musical – The Remix is a rare cultural clash of sounds yet to be experienced in Tāmaki Makaurau.  Representing a cross section of Auckland’s aka Dominion Rd’s diverse culture, the 9-piece band will feature a number of cultural and traditional instruments.  This includes taonga pūoro (Māori traditional instruments), African percussion and Indian sitar, along with Chinese erhu/violin, to complement the traditional western instrumentation.  Led by musical director Jerome Kavanagh, an internationally renowned taonga pūoro artist, The Remix will comprise Jun Bin Lee (composer who will play the keyboards/bass/electric drums), Mabingo Alfdaniels (African percussionist), Indian sitar player Sargam Madhur and Chinese erhu violinist Anita Kang.  The band will back singers Marissa Holder, Brady Peeti and Mustaq Missouri who sang the three original songs from Dominion Rd The Musical (2017) i.e. Mōrena, No Time For This and Diversity.
